World Malaria Day 2010
Every year nearly one million people die as a result of malaria. Four out of five of those deaths are in children under the age of five. Malaria can easily be prevented by using a bed net. On April 25, 2010 (World Malaria Day, 2010), the Remi Foundation introduced a new program called Books & Bed Nets. The program is expected to create awareness of the importance of bed nets in the prevention of malaria. In addition, since most of the malaria-endemic parts of the world also have low levels of literacy, the organization hopes to promote a reading culture and an appreciation of literature among children and young adults. For more information and to find out more about the program, please send an email to info@remifoundation.org

In My Country

In My Country is a voluntary cultural exchange outreach program which is expected to provide school children with an insight into the ways of life in different countries in the world. This is done through a number of activities such as country poster creation, creative writing and a pen pal project.

As part of the In My Country program we are in the process of signing up schools to participate in our pen pal project. Please contact us at info@remifoundation.org for additional information.
